This blog is a venting of sorts. Who here reading this finds it really annoying to sign into your personal Facebook account only to read about things that one should not be talking about in such a public "world"? I for one am tired of reading about grown woman/men broadcasting their sex lives, talking about who they are gonna beat up, whining that they can't pay their electric bill but they just bought an ipad or car less than a week ago. The list goes on. You get my point. The last thing I wanna do when I get on my Facebook in the morning to catch up with Family & Friends is read this trash. I remember when I first started getting into Facebook feeling like, "Wow, what a great way to keep in touch & up to date on those you care about". It was so nice finding old friends from school family you haven't seen or heard from in a long time because the miles were far too many. As the days pass, each time I log on I find myself going through my "News Feed" to see who I need to hide, restrict or delete all together. That to me is sad. But if I want to keep my sanity then it has to be done. Now I know at some point in time we all have been a little guilty of posting a little "TMI" but when it's every damn day? Come on really? Why is it people get the sense of "It's my page & I'll say what I want"? Fine, but do I really need to know that you just got done screwing your significant other? NO! There is a fine line between expressing one's happiness & just plain saying too much in the cyber world.
Now my biggest pet peeve is someone who has children acting so recklessly. ESPECIALLY if your child is friends with you on your Facebook! This just makes me SICK! Why in the hell would you write about these things for your child to read? The more time goes by the less Facebook becomes "private". If your child comments on that status then the ticker on the right is going to tell all of your child's friends. How embarrassing is that? I can only imagine what must go through these kids heads. The opinion they are forming because "Flowers" mom can't keep her personal sex life to herself. Then you have these moms that blow their status' up with "I'm going to beat so & so's ass"! OMG! Last time I checked you are supposed to be teaching your children not handle a situation with violence. Then these parents are blatting and looking for people to console them and reassure them they did a great job raising their child after they are 10yrs old with a rap sheet! I do not in any way pretend to be the almighty perfect parent but I do know the basics of the skill. My kids are 19 and 17 and I don't care if they were 25 & 32 there are just some things I will never discuss in front of my children! I certainly will not put it on a social network for all to read!
Now my next problem! People who get on their status looking for their friends to feel bad for them because they have no money to pay their bills. Hmmmmm...Didn't I just read less than a week ago that you bought that ipad or that 57 inch plasma TV? Don't you think you should have paid your damn bills first, then if you had anything left go have fun shopping with that? It is beyond me why oh why, people type these things. Do they not realize how silly this makes them look to those who have half a brain?
My next issue! Who here finds it extremely embarrassing when you can't pay a bill like, lets say, your cell phone bill and it gets shut off? I know if it were me I would be extremely embarrassed and would not tell everyone about it. I can't tell you the countless times I have read status after status of someone saying "If you need to get in touch with me HMU here cuz I didn't pay my cell phone bill and they shut it off"! OMG!!!!!! Really? Do you not have any sense of "the other people DO NOT need to know that" factor?
I have even seen people post their traffic tickets, bail bonds and court orders. Why do they think this makes them somehow elite or awesome? It makes them look really stupid if you ask me. But that's just my personal opinion. Face it, Facebook has become cable television. It's a place where you can watch, Jerry Springer, Lifetime, Cops, The First 48, As The World Turns, Porn and The Peoples Court. Who needs cable or satellite? I for one am sick of looking at these train wrecks, so I do the occasional Facebook cleaning. If this blog offends you perhaps you should go back to your Wall and read what you are writing because chances are you are one of these people that I am talking about. Oh, I almost forgot the Mother of all things that anger me on Facebook! Those who feel the need to have the Fbomb as every other word! Of all the creative and inventive ways to get your point across you think the Fbomb does the job and somehow paints a picture of you being "Myrtle Bad Ass" or "Billy Bad Ass"? Nope! You're sadly mistaken. It only proves that your intellect and vocabulary is very limited. Which also brings me to ....... If you can't spell the word don't write it! Come on, you are either typing from your computer or your phone they both clearly have spell check, USE IT! They are there as a tool to help you when you can't help yourself. I understand that sometimes "Smart phones" put something in other than what you intended, so that can slide. But words like "coming", "cannot", "gross", "coffee" seriously? These are grade school words. The only reason I say anything about that is because it comes from the same people who trot all over Facebook thinking their poo doesn't stink. Learn how to spell...... Then I'll take a wiff.
Ahhhh, I feel a great deal better now that I have gotten this off my shoulder's! So here's to taking out the trash and making your Facebook a pleasant place again, from my clean Facebook World to your's...Much Love Dani
